About US

Sheridan County Behavioral Health Coalition is a non-profit organization promoting individual, family, and community behavioral health awareness and wellness. The Coalition strives to:

- identify and educate the public about behavioral health resources

- collaborate and partner with local service providers and community partners

- engage Sheridan Country communities in addressing mental/ behavioral health issues

- advocate for resolution of unmet behavioral health needs in Sheridan County.

- assist in strengthening behavioral health services in Sheridan County.

Sheridan County Behavioral Health Coalition serves as a community development group. Therefore, it is important that the Coalition represent all those in the community that are interested in or impacted by mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and substance use.  We strive to include representation of those with lived experiences and family members of those with lived experiences.

Sheridan County Behavioral Health Coalition also serves as a Local Advisory Council (LAC)

The Local Advisory Council was called for by the 1999 Montana State Legislature to increase public participation and awareness of mental health issues and care.

The purpose of a Behavioral Health Local Advisory Council (BHLAC) is to assist in strengthening public behavioral health services in the community and to advocate for system- wide change by providing input and recommendations to regional Service Area Authorities, the Mental Health Oversight Advisory Council (MHOAC), and the Department of Public Health & Human Services (DPHHS)

We encourage anyone who cares about the behavioral health of our communities to participate in the Coalition’s monthly meetings.  We welcome your voice, skills, and talents.  By becoming involved you can make a difference in our communities.

Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month, 12:00 noon,

Sheridan County Courthouse Jubilee Room, downstairs from the Library.
